The 2019 Annual Location Managers Guild International Awards Winners and Nominees

The winners for the 6th Annual Location Managers Guild International Awards have been announced. The LMGI Awards nominees gathered for a formal ceremony in Los Angeles to honour outstanding locations professionals.

The winners for the 6th Annual Location Managers Guild International Awards were announced today by 2019 LMGI Awards President Mike Fantasia and multiple presenters. The LMGI Awards spotlight international features, television and commercials in which the creative use of filming locations set the tone, enrich the character and enhance the narrative. The awards honour the outstanding and creative visual contributions by location professionals and film commissions in film, television and commercials from around the globe.

Additional presenters included Oscar and Emmy winning actress Regina King (If Beale Street Could Talk, American Crime, Jerry Maguire), Joe Mantegna (The Godfather: Part lll, Criminal Minds, The Simpsons), Emmy-winning director Claire Scanlon (The Office, Set It Up, The Last Man on Earth) and Clara Le, Commercial Director The LocationGuide/FOCUS/makers.

The LMGI Awards also recognizes outstanding service by film commissions for their support “above and beyond” during the production process. With the change in date of this year’s LMGI Awards from April to September, the 6th Annual LMGI Awards timeline is unique in that there is an 18-month calendar of eligibility. Productions that were first released between January 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019 were eligible.

As previously announced, acclaimed Oscar-nominated director Peter Weir (Witness, Dead Poets Society, The Truman Show, Master and Commander) received the Eva Monley Award, which recognizes and honors industry members who support the work of location professionals. Location Manager Michael J. Meehan (Dead Poets Society, The Perfect Storm, Pirates of the Caribbean, Master and Commander) received the 2019 LMGI Lifetime Achievement Award.

Winners were revealed during a formal ceremony on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Broad Theatre in Santa Monica. For more information on the 2019 LMGI Awards, go to the official site of the Location Managers Guild International.
