Sylvester Stallone Art: Sly Stallone’s Artwork on Display at TIFF 2023

Sylvester Stallone’s personal artwork, including 12 paintings by the ‘Rocky,’ ‘Rambo,’ and ‘Expendables’ star, is on exhibit for the world premiere of ‘Sly’ Documentary at TIFF ahead of its streaming debut on Netflix. November 3rd.

Sylvester Stallone, widely recognized for his iconic roles in the Rocky and Rambo film franchises, ventured into the world of visual arts in the 1970s. At the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Stallone unveils a captivating exhibit offering fans a rare showing of Sylvester Stallone art.

The Sylvester Stallone art exhibit will run throughout the festival from September 7-17. You can find the showcase on the 4th floor at the Canadian Film Gallery at TIFF Bell Lightbox. 

All of this will lead up to the World Premiere of Thom Zimny’s latest film, Sly, a documentary about the life and career of Sylvester Stallone. Released on Netflix on November 3rd, the film will offer an intimate look at his career choices and writing process. Stallone’s art exhibition at TIFF adds an extra dimension to the documentary and the story of his career trajectory.

Those in attendance experience a firsthand look at Stallone’s artistic narrative. This allows everyone to connect with the Hollywood legend on a more personal level. Vibrant colours and bold strokes characterize Stallone’s paintings, drawing inspiration from his cinematic experiences and personal journey.

The collection features a dynamic blend of 12 paintings with some of his movie memorabilia, including his original script from the 1976 Rocky movie signed by the big screen star to his mother.

From actor to writer to director and producer to artist, his personal artwork underscores that even a seasoned multi-hyphenate action star like Sylvester Stallone can discover a fresh canvas for self-discovery in their third act.
