Have you ever wanted to watch every single film that won the Oscar for Best Production Design at the Academy Awards just to see the gorgeous film designs of yesteryear?
Well now you can, thanks to Sam Passer on Youtube… or at least you can see a small piece of every winner in under 5 minutes.
The one exception is the Oscar for Best Production Design of 1936 which was Dodsworth. The film Dodsworth was mistakenly left out by the creator but every other winner is in full display in the video which you can watch below.
Now I just have to make a list of every winner that I have yet to see in its entirety. That would make for one heck of a satisfying movie night to watch even a few of these in a row. Until this video I had never even heard of Restoration (1995) and it looks divine. How is it possible I didn’t know of this film?
If you’re looking for a recommendation or two of films I have seen, I really recommend Black Narcissus (1947), The Red Shoes (1948), The Apartment (1960), and The Last Emperor (1987).
Sit down, relax, and enjoy watching the winners of every Oscar for Best Production Design. I sure did.
