The Game of Thrones Season 8 VFX Breakdown Reel by Pixomondo Will Feed Your Creative Spirit

I don’t normally geek out to a lot of VFX videos but I think this Game of Thrones Season 8 VFX breakdown by Pixomondo was pretty special. The visual effects on Game of Thrones Season 8 did not disappoint as they somehow took everything up a notch for their final season. It’s amazing what they were able to achieve on a television schedule with such enormous time constraints as we saw in The Last Watch, the Game of Thrones behind-the-scenes documentary. If you’re curious about the making of GoT and you haven’t seen that documentary, I highly recommend you watch it.

What also came through for me in this visual effects breakdown was the enormous marriage between the production design and the visual effects teams. They’ve won an Oscar, an Emmy Award and several VES (Visual Effects Society) Awards for their outstanding work.

Pixomondo’s VFX Supervisor on Game of Thrones Season 8 was Sven Martin whose other credits include Justice League, Bridge of Spies, Star Trek Into Darkness, The Hunger Games, and Hugo to name only a handful.
