The 2020 BFDG Awards Winners Announced by the British Film Designers Guild

The 2020 British Film Designers Guild BFDG Awards winners have been announced. The BFDG Awards gala took place at a black tie celebration at the Sheraton Grand, Piccadilly, Mayfair, London.

The winners of the 2020 British Film Designers Guild Awards were given out today at a black tie awards gala at the Sheraton Grand, Piccadilly, Mayfair, London. The 2020 BFDG Awards nominees were previously announced in December.

The British Film Designers Guild was initially formed in 1946 with the aim of raising the standards and profile of the Art Department in the UK and protecting the interests of its members. Today, the BFDG have over 450 memberships of skilled technicians and designers, spanning the various branches of the Art Department in Film and Television.

The British Film Designers Guild Awards, also known as the 2020 BFDG Awards, celebrate the extraordinary talent of the art department through 10 production design awards.

One such award is the Lifetime Achievement Award which is given to an esteemed and valued member of the BFDG. On January 17th it was announced that Oscar-winning and BAFTA-nominated Set Decorator Peter Young would receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Peter Young is best known for his work on Batman, Sleepy Hollow, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
